About Grewelthorpe Village Hall
Grewelthorpe Village Hall was set up by the community for the community. Its purpose is to enable its users to stretch both body and mind, as well as to meet up with friends & neighbours and socialise. The transformation of this much-loved but unused church building, into a magnificent Village Hall, has been not only worthwhile and sustainable, but much appreciated and well used. We already organise a varied programme of events, but we are always open to new ideas and initiatives.

Volunteers
The running and upkeep of Grewelthorpe Village Hall is very much dependent on our volunteers. We are blessed with many who do all sorts of things from helping out in the cafe, sitting on the board making key decisions, maintaining the building or just generally helping out with things that require doing at events etc. Without that ‘army’ of volunteers it would not be possible to maintain the facility and put on the wide range of activities we do. Consequently we are always looking for people to help out, introduce fresh ideas, provide new skills etc. It is a great way of meeting new people from the village and surrounding district. and of course we do have fun. So if you are interested in either getting involved and helping out or even joining the board then please contact us and let us know.
What do you want to do in Grewelthorpe Village Hall?
We work with many providers and arrange many activities, training courses and events in and around the village hall. But is there something else you would like to see? If you have any suggestions of activities, training or events you would like to see or you would like to organise then please do not hesitate to contact us.
Defibrillator
A defibrillator is installed at the Village Hall. This defibrillator has been registered with the YAS and if you need to telephone 999 regarding a suspected heart attack they will be able to tell you the cabinet lock code and how to use the defibrillator. If you live in the village the operator will know you are close to it but outlying properties may need to explain there is a defibrillator at Grewelthorpe Village Hall, HG4 3BU. No training is required. Funding for the defibrillator has been provided by Grewelthorpe Parish Council and Harrogate Borough Council.
Documents
There are a number of important documents associated with the village hall and it is our intention over time to make these readily available.
Two very important documents are the Articles of Association and the Memorandum of Association, which effectively are the main agreements between all parties on the use of the facility.
